In what case is the appointment of a consumer protection officer mandatory?

In this article, we will examine an obligation that is not new, but is all the more important, because heavy fines, even on the scale of a million euros, may be imposed of businesses for non-compliance.

The rules applicable to consumer protection officers are set out in Article 17/D of Act CLV of 1997 on Consumer Protection (hereinafter referred to as the Consumer Protection Act) and in Annex 1 thereto. These provisions require specified businesses to employ a consumer protection officer from 1 February 2014.
