The regulation of cross-border limited companies
To facilitate the achievement and smooth functioning of the internal market, Act CXL of 2007 on cross-border mergers of limited companies regulated the cross-border mergers of such companies. The legislation paved the way for the easier coordination of management and decision-making processes within the European Union for specific groups of companies and for making their operations more cost-effective.
However, this Act is repealed on the basis of the provisions of Act CXXIV of 2021 on the cross-border transformations, mergers and de-mergers of limited companies, and on other legislative amendments with the aim of legal harmonisation, which will be effective from 1 August 2022.
