Labor law aspects of compulsory coronavirus vaccination

The Government Decree of 598/2021. (X. 28.) on the protection of workplaces against the coronavirus authorized employers to set forth the compulsory coronavirus vaccination for their employees from 1 November 2021. The questions and answers that arise in relation to the legal interpretation are summarized below.

The employer is responsible for ensuring safe working conditions and to do everything in its power to avoid the risks caused by the coronavirus. The most efficient tool is to set forth vaccination, which could become a requirement, as its absence may lead to the suspension or termination of employment.
